Allergies/ Hayfever
Allergies have become one of the most prevalent condition of our time; the WHO estimates that about 400 million people in the world today are affected by allergies of some kind. These allergies can be to food, pollen, dust, mold, animal fur, etc.
Seasonal allergies, also commonly known as hay fever (allergic rhinitis), is a pollen allergy that mainly affects people in spring and early summer. The symptoms include a runny, itchy, and often burning nose, accompanied by swollen mucous membranes. Hay fever can also lead to headaches, red, watery, itchy and light-sensitive eyes. In some it can lead to allergic asthma, where breathing can become difficult.
For patients who suffer from year-round allergic rhinitis or asthma, the consequences on their quality of life can be even more serious (shortness of breath, sleep disorders, daytime fatigue, reduced concentration and performance).
Our therapists can often significantly reduce symptoms and allergic reactions through appropriate measures, such as acupuncture, individually tailored herbal remedies as well as nutritional advice.
Ideally, therapy should begin one month before spring or even in winter and be carried out over a 3-year cycle. But treatment to reduce symptoms can be done at anytime of the year.
