Auricular Acupuncture
Two systems of auricular acupuncture exist and are widely practiced: the Nogier system, developed by the French, P. Nogier and his colleagues Burdiol, Bossy and Jarricot, and the Chinese system. Both systems have correspondence of up to 80% in point location in the ear. Both systems are used worldwide for treatment of pain, disorders of the nervous system, internal medicine and gynaecology. Auricular acupuncture is also the basis for the substance abuse program from the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA), utilized in smoking, alcohol and drug abuse cessation.
