Treatment Procedure

1. Make an appointment for a first-time consultation.

You may schedule an appointment by telephone (061 272 8889), or directly at the Institute’s front-desk, or send us an e-mail by clicking on CONTACT on this website or at [email protected], with all your possible days, times and practitioner preferences. Following this, you will receive some forms to fill out before your first consultation and bring them with you for your first appointment. They can be mailed to you or you may download them yourself under the following headings:

Personal Info Form
Health Questionnaire Form

2. At your first consultation, which will last about an hour, your health concerns, present health condition and history will be discussed. A diagnosis as well as differential diagnosis will be formulated according to the criteria of Chinese medicine and a treatment strategy initiated. Depending on the treatment plan, you may be treated by acupuncture, Tui Na/An Mo massage, cupping, moxibustion, Gua Sha, or a Chinese herbal prescription may be written specially to treat you health issue. Sometimes, your practitioner will suggest some dietary and lifestyle changes that will aid in your healing process.

You will receive the prescribed herbal formula, often by mail directly at home, from a Chinese herbal pharmacy. Please pay close attention to the enclosed instruction for your herbs regarding preparation and ingestion. Natural medicine, when not taken with proper attention to dosage instruction, can induce unwanted side-effects.

3. You may make your following appointments at the front-desk after your first consultation, in which your treatment plan and frequency will be discussed. Please state if you need your appointment for acupuncture, Tui Na/An Mo massage or for a follow-up herbal consultation.
